Feminist - Essay Example Mrs. John, on the other hand, is watched by everyone and spends most of her time in a room where she find comfort in the yellow wall paper that she initially hated but had come to like. Both stories represent the idea of womenââ¬â¢s freedom albeit in different ways. Both women believe that the obstacles to their freedom are their husbands who do not want to look at things from the perspectives of the women. Both women are suffering from some kind of disease which make easy to manipulate. But when they get their freedom they are elated and do not want to give it up. They both have a moment where they lock themselves up in a room and take in their new found freedom. However, there is only one happy ending in the two stories, only one woman recovers from her condition and uses her experience to help other in the same condition (Gilman, The yellow wallpaper).
